Earlier this month, the first unit of a 55 t XCMG telescopic-crawler crane, type XCG55TE, was delivered and put to work in Europe. The crane was delivered through XCMG’s Bulgarian dealer, Ingconsult Ltd and is working on the TurkStream pipeline project.

The XCG55TE comes from XCMG’s current range of six types telescopic-crawler cranes, comprising of a 25 t crane up to the 220 t capacity telescopic-crawler, and is the first telescopic crawler model being fully compliant with the European machinery directive 2006/42/EC.

The maximum rated lifting capacity of the XCG55TE telescopic is 55 t. The crane has a five section 41 m telescopic boom and can be equipped with 9.5 - 16 m jib. The crane was the preferred solution for the pipeline project, because of the short set-up time, high flexibility in use, fast relocation along the jobsite and the ability to move whilst holding a load. The telescoping crawler track meets the outline dimension requirements for overall crane transportation.

Although a larger range of cranes is fully compliant with the European machinery directive 2006/42/EC and can be delivered with an EU Declaration of Conformity, prior to the Bauma exhibition, XCMG announced that its focus for 2019 will be on the 60, 100 and 130 t All Terrain Cranes, the 85, 130 and 260 t Crawler Cranes and the XR240E Rotary Drilling Rig for the foundation industry.
